Dry shampoo is a Godsend. We love it, even if it does encourage us to avoid actually washing our hair.

If you've ever been rushing to get ready and noticed your greasy locks aren't the vibe for tonight's dinner party - spraying dry shampoo on your roots can make all the difference. Batiste - a popular brand in the UK - says the product removes oil without drying your hair out, leaving you 'to feel all kinds of fabulous instantly'.

However, it turns out we've been using the stuff wrong all this time. One beauty pro has explained a 'game-changing' way to use the cult product and say goodbye to greasy roots for good.

Bambi Does Beauty is a digital creator who has amassed a staggering 462,000 Instagram followers thanks to her savvy beauty tips. In a recent video, she shared her 'greasy hair hack' which garnered more than 11,000 likes.

The influencer advises using a powder dry shampoo rather than a spray bottle on hair that was washed that day (referred to as day one hair) rather than waiting until the hair becomes greasy. She recommends using a 'heavy-duty' product and then 'flipping' your hair to create a voluptuous effect on the roots.

"It has been the biggest game-changer," she added. My hair would get greasy seven hours after washing it... Thank me later." Hundreds of viewers took to the comments section to share their thoughts - with many haling the hack.

One user wrote: "My hairstylist used this product on my hair right after he washed and cut it and by day four it STILL didn’t look dirty! What! My scalp is usually oily by day 2. Witchcraft."

Another commented: "Okay this looks so nice, especially the volume!" While a third added: "Ordered! Sounds fab!"

Some people recommend the beauty expert try a homemade dry shampoo powder, which they say is more effective and cheaper than store-bought alternatives. " I will never buy dry shampoo of any kind again," one user said. "Nothing I’ve purchased works better. For a brunette, it’s just: cacao, arrowroot powder, baking soda, and some drops of rosemary oil for fragrance."
