One woman has left the internet in a frenzy after revealing a hidden feature on her iPhone.

The woman regularly uses the specific tool on her device to help with her laundry, and not many people could believe it. Nearly all of us use our phones to watch videos, play games and for everyday tasks. The popular gadget is packed with various useful apps and features to help make our lives easier. While most use their phone to check emails and update their calendars, their mobile devices also come in handy for other duties - including helping you with your laundry.

For most people, washing and sorting laundry can feel like a minefield as there are endless things to consider, such as the temperature you need to set on your washing machines so your delicate garment won't get damaged, or whether you need to tumble dry, or line dry.

But for this amazing trick, your iPhone can tell you what you need to do straight away so you won't end up wasting time figuring out how to properly wash your clothes. In a TikTok video shared to her @wtfaleisa account, the woman explains how to decode your clothing tags in a few simple steps. All you need to do is open your camera app and take a picture of a label.

After capturing the picture, tap on the image in the bottom left and then the icon of the 'i' in a circle next to the delete bin icon. You'll notice a 'Look up laundry care' option, which will read out everything you need to know. The feature works if you have the latest iOS 17 update on your phone.

Social media users flocked to the comments to rave about little-known iPhone feature. One excited person said: "You learn something every day." "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!" demanded another. A third person added: "Seriously, so cool, I was I knew this sooner!"

"I'm always so unsure how to wash my clothes, and the care tags aren't ever much help. First, the text is so small, and second, who the heck actually knows what any of the icons stand for? This hack is an absolute game-changer and will prevent many shrunken undies," a fourth person chimed in.
