As January unfolds, the crisp winter air brings with it a real yearning for hunkering down indoors and indulging in a little comfort food. And what better way to sink into your haven away from it all by making some delicious five-ingredient jam cookies?

Before you know it, your kitchen will be full of the sumptuous smell of home baking, and you'll be questioning why you didn't do all this before now. Perhaps you're hesitant as you think it won't be easy, but trust us, it is. As TikTok content creator Hari Beavis demonstrates.

In her video she introduces the recipe by saying: "I think we're all needing a bit of love to get us through these January Blues, and these five-ingredient jam cookies are perfect for a little weekend baking. I've been making them for years. Sit down with a loved one for a cuppa and a cookie and just go easy on yourself."

Two egg yolks,

280g plain flour

Strawberry jam - or whatever filling you like!

Method

Cream together the butter and sugar before mixing in two egg yolks and the flour. Kneed the dough and then roll it out on a floured surface. Then cut into your favourite cookie shapes and make an indent in the middle. Hari used a metal spoon handle to create a heart shape, but you can create whatever shape you wish. Next, fill the indent with your filling of choice (Hari used strawberry jam). Then bake in the oven on 180°C for 30 mins.
