It goes without saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it can be difficult to rustle up a healthy guilt-free dish first thing in the morning.
Research has shown that 86 per cent of Brits skip breakfast and opt for high-sugar snacks instead, including biscuits and chocolate. However, eating a balanced breakfast can help to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and improve weight management, reports Better Health.
Nutritionist Emily English has shared her blueberry yoghurt oat breakfast loaf recipe, which boasts 215 calories and 6g of protein per slice. The social media star, who goes by @emthenutritionist online, took to TikTok to share her healthy hack - which is made entirely from porridge ingredients.
She said: "If you’re stuck on what to have for breakfast, then you’ve got to try this. My ultimate breakfast loaf is made using all the ingredients that you’d normally have in your porridge, that are transportable in a delicious cake form." She then shared her recipe which can be found below.
Emily said: "This breakfast is full of high-protein yoghurt, fresh blueberries and fibre-rich oats, it’s perfectly paired with an extra dollop of yoghurt, a drizzle of nut butter, and maple syrup or honey for the dream start to your day. Trust me guys, you’re going to love this one and it really is just so good."
