A man was left in tears after discovering an abandoned dog with a heart-wrenching note attached to her collar. The dog, named Siggy, was found running aimlessly "in the middle of a busy road" in Jalan Canning Estate in Canning Garden, Ipoh, when Lionel Keith Vytialingam stopped to help her.

The goldendoodle was incredibly lucky to escape the road without injury, as cars continued to speed past her all day long. It wasn't until Lionel got her into his car that he noticed a soggy note pinned to her collar. The note read: "WOOF! Hi! My name is Siggy, and I'm the most loving and attentive doggy you'll ever see!" "My master is very sorry he had to leave me here with you, but he just can't look after me anymore. I'm very sorry about that, as I am sure he is too."

"Please take me into your home. Please let me be a part of your family. Please love me." "I am a goldendoodle. I'm five-years-old this year, and I have not been neutered. I am very nice. I haven't bitten anyone, ever! I am a good guard dog who will sit in front of your door all day, and bark at anyone who comes to your gate until you tell me to stop or I know the person very well. I can do some tricks too!" "I hope you'll accept me. With love and some woof, Siggy."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Lionel scooped her up, put her into his car, and drove her home to check her over. He shared: "As I was getting groceries, I caught sight of a lone little dog running aimlessly in the middle of a big road." He continued: "I got into my car, followed the little one for a bit then stopped by the roadside. Thank goodness she chose to walk towards me, away from the middle of the road."

Lionel added: "She had a soggy note folded up and tied around her neck. I tried not to move at all to maybe gain her trust." He recalled: "She stood away for about 10 minutes watching my every pulse, it seemed, before she finally approached me from the back, sniffed, then walked round to face me. I asked her if I could look at her note."

Describing the intense moment, he said: "By this time she had formed the most intense, most pleading eye contact with me from under her matted fringe." After reading the note, Lionel said: "I broke down in tears, one hand firmly grasping onto her sticky knots of fur. I experienced all kinds of emotions, but very little foresight.

"I probably wasn't a good sight for all the passing vehicles. But inside of that moment of mental-blankness, I decided she was going to get into my car, and off the road. Not because I knew what I was doing, or where to go, but because right then I knew I didn't need to have all the answers before I took a step forward."

After bringing her home, Lionel made the dog a comfy bed under the sofa and gave her some bread, honey, and sweets as it was all he had. The very next day, Lionel's brother took her in, providing her with a warm bed and proper food. A year later, Lionel welcomed the dog back into his home and exclaimed: "Siggy is a happy, healthy, precious part of my home. There's not a day that goes by without us looking into each other's faces and saying 'damn we made it."
