Cleaning expert shares the dirties places in homes that people will always miss
Cleaning your home can be therapeutic seeing your home transform from messy into a sparkly abode - but one cleaning expert has revealed the certain places people will always miss.
You'd like to think you'd manage to reach every nook and cranny in your home when cleaning, but cleaning fanatic Libby Wharton has revealed the dirtiest places you should always look out for and the most common places that are missed. The whizz regularly shares cleaning tips and tricks on her social media, and in her recent video, she highlighted that many homeowners will forget to clean the one thing people touch every single day - handles and door knobs.
"They get touched every day and you very rarely clean them," Libby explained. She added: "I use anti-bacterial spray on mine." The other household item that rarely gets cleaned according to Libby is pet bowls. Owners should be aware of the bacteria and she explained: "Dog bowls or any pet bowls or anything like that - there's a lot of bacteria that grow in these. Even if you regularly wash them, they're probably really, really dirty."
Next up, and something Libby called an "ick" is kitchen sponges. "Omg if you wash your dishes and you put your sponge out on the side - no offence, that's fine - but there's like 10 million bacteria that can live in one of these. If have one of these I just bin it after it's been used."
Libby also revealed that wooden items such as chopping boards are the perfect place for bacteria to grow. "Any form of chopping boards, they thrive off bacteria, let me tell you!" she chimed. Libby expressed how there are lots of places dirt can be missed and said: "There's just a lot of places in your home that's really dirty and they've got a lot more germs on them than you realise," and advised: "Antibacterial spray guys - just use it."
