Waiting for your clothes to dry - especially if you live in a tight space - can be a total nightmare.
While tumble dryers make for a great solution, not everyone has one and even those who do are probably watching the pennies because running a tumble dryer can be quite pricey.
Thankfully, one woman has discovered a cost-effective solution to drying her clothes without driving up her electricity bill and breaking the bank or wasting hours of your life away.
Alix Byrne who lives with her partner in a one-bed flat, has solved the great mystery of doing your laundry and then not waiting 400 hours for it to dry if you don't have a tumble dryer. Despite having multiple clothes airers, Alix was struggling to keep up with her laundry, with space being the biggest issue.
However, one day while she was putting her bedding out to dry, the woman had a "eureka moment". Covering the clothes horse with the bedsheet, then placing it near the radiator, she came to realise that the sheet had created a pocket of hot air which led her clothes to dry much more quickly. In fact, the entire load she had put out had taken only two hours.

Alix, who is a postwoman, said: "It was kind of a eureka moment. I was trying to find where else to hang the bed sheet to dry, apart from over the kitchen door which ends up smelling of whatever you're cooking."
"I usually keep my clothes frame by the radiator, especially in winter and I just thought 'why not throw the bedsheet over the frame, tuck the ends behind the radiator and under the stands then the hot air from the radiator will dry my clothes in hours.'
"I stay in a small, cosy, one bed flat with my partner and we always have two clothes frames at once as we have busy lifestyles and go through a lot of washings which takes up too much space.
"We have a tumble dryer but to be honest, it costs far too much and doesn’t leave your clothes smelling the best. I think the reason this hack would benefit people is it saves money on tumble drying. You probably have the heating on anyway as it's January.
"It saves up space as your clothes would be dry within hours and the clothes horse can be packed away again and into the cupboard. Instead of the usual 24 hours and your clothes are still damp – then low and behold, it’s time for another washing! It doesn't have to be a never-ending cycle anymore."
