Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are "likely tired of getting the cold shoulder" from the Royal Family amid reports they're distancing themselves from The Firm, according to an expert.

wThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have declined an invitation to attend the Duke of Westminster's wedding so they could avoid an "awkward encounter" with the royals. They've had a tense relationship with the Royal Family since stepping down back in 2020.

Despite the reports Meghan and Harry are distancing themselves from The Firm, Public relations expert Ryan McCormick admitted he doesn't believe the rumours are true. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he admitted: "In reality, the duo is likely tired of getting the cold shoulder from the Royals and are trying to save face."

Ryan also explained why the Royal Family might be stepping back from Harry and Meghan. "Based on Harry & Meghan's tell-all nature, members of the Royal Family are now aware that anything they say in their presence could be used in a future book or interview," he said.

However, he said it could actually be a good thing for the Sussexes if they step away from the royal feud. Ryan told us: "If the Royals are openly offering peace gestures to Harry and Meghan and if they are choosing to distance themselves from the source of all their notoriety - it does help them to stand out on their own."

He also gave some suggestions for how the couple can "make 2024 their year". The expert said: "They have to do one or more exceptional things.

"If Harry and Meghan can get comfortable in poking fun at themselves and even allow themselves to be roasted, it could vastly improve their public image. Also, if the ex-royals were to start visiting several destitute countries and doing hands-on work to help those in need, it would show that they're capable of making a positive impact on the world."

Harry and Meghan have already been doing plenty of charity work, with the couple spending time on the ground, providing financial support and raising awareness. For example, Harry is a patron and co-founder of Sentebale, which supports young people in various circumstances in Lesotho.

Meghan is understood to have supported charities tackling poverty and racism. Her patronages include SmartWorks, which provides "marginalised women" with support and resources related to employment.
