Taylor Swift could risk "upsetting" her fanbase by making "one wrong statement", a PR expert has warned.

The 34-year-old hitmaker enjoyed a successful 2023, with her smashing various records and taking her Eras Tour on the road - globally. And now, as she steps into 2024, Taylor is expected to have another incredibly successful year.

But despite the success she is tipped to revel in, there are a few things that might not go to plan. And one of these things? Putting a foot wrong with her fanbase, according to an expert.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, PR guru Andy Barr from 10Yetis.co.uk said: "Taylor Swift has the world at her feet right now and looks like an unstoppable enternmail [sic] and media machine. The only risk she could face in 2024 is upsetting those who have helped her get there, ie, The Swifties."

He noted: "Whilst they are a dedicated and loyal fanbase, I think it is ok to label them as being a bit hardcore. They seem to move as one. A connected, powerful group that has almost become a movement, and they are known for being a bit sensitive at times.

"A number of brands, celebrities and organisations have fallen foul of upsetting the Swifties and Taylor needs to make sure she does everything she can to keep them onside."

Andy then warned the hitmaker, adding that "one wrong statement by her, in their eyes and they seem the type of group that could easily turn". He went on: "In footballing terms they feel a bit like the “ultra’s” that you see supporting European teams.

"Crazily loyal to their team, but also ready to explode at any moment."

He concluded by saying: "Keeping them in check and on side in 2024 is likely going to be her biggest challenge and risk."

Taylor will return to the stage next month when she kicks off the next leg of her Eras Tour. Speculation is rife that she could release the re-recording of her 2017 album Reputation.
