Collin Morikawa has admitted he has given up reading the PGA Tour's framework agreement updates, after calling on the circuit's feud with LIV Golf to come to an end.

After initially announcing their plans to work with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and LIV last June, the PGA Tour recently missed their December 31 deal to sign off a deal. Just hours before the end-of-year target, the Tour informed its players that an agreement still had not been finalised, but negotiations were continuing.

The saga surrounding the American-based circuit and the LIV setup appears to have left Morikawa short of patience, with the American keen for the off-course politics to finally come to an end. While many players have regularly weighed in on the issue, Morikawa is keen for them to simply focus on playing golf again.

"I hope everything comes together and we’re able to all play together at some point in some time in some way, but there’s so much back and forth, the emails we get, it’s all fluff,” Morikawa admitted at this week's Sentry Tournament in Hawaii.

“There’s no point in reading these emails anymore that we get. Players are saying one thing and then they say something else some other time.” Morikawa joined the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods in remaining loyal to the PGA Tour, whilst a number of their fellow players opted to sign on the dotted line with the Saudi league.

The split led to friction between players on both side of the argument, but Morikawa just wants to see the world's best all reunited in one place again. “At this point, I think just deals need to be made and we all need to get back to playing golf,” he added.

"It is what it is. Guys make their decision to go one way, I’ve never had an issue with it, I’ve never had an issue with anything. Everyone makes their own decision. But I do miss playing with everyone at one time. That’s why the majors have been fun over the past year, two years.

“Not that they’re not fun, but it’s nice to see some of these guys, right, because it’s, that was normal when I turned pro. I never thought it was going to be anything different. Not that it takes away from these fields, not that it takes away from the PGA Tour, but there’s great players in other parts of the world, and I think we miss that.”

Keen to focus on the dealings on the course rather than off it, Morikawa kicked off his 2024 season in style, shooting an eight-under-par 65 in his opening round at The Sentry. This leaves the two-time PGA Tour champion in a tie for second, one shot off 18-hole leader Sahith Theegala heading into Friday's second round.
