Cleaning your little one's toys may not even cross your mind, but one mum has proven why it should - and the discovery she made was seriously grim.
Mum Dawn, who posts on TikTok under username @dawno.saur, didn't intend to clean her toddler's building blocks, but when something happened that meant she was forced to, she was glad she did. She explained that her toddler had spilled "an entire cup of coffee" into their Mega Bloks bin, and so she was given no choice but to pop them in the bath to try and get them clean again. But when she "realised how dirty they were", she was grossed out, and wanted to warn other parents.
Over the top of the video, which showed the blocks in the bath, she penned: "POV: Your toddler spills an entire cup of coffee into their Mega Bloks bin and now you're stirring them around in your bathtub realising how dirty they actually were." The blocks could be seen floating round in a gross, grey-ish-brown soup, highlighting how much grime they hold on to.
The mum had captioned her video: "At first, I was like 'ooh, this is pretty', then I went real quick from that to", and she finished the caption with an emoji showing someone about to throw up.
One mum fumed: "A glimpse into my future after accidentally spilling Dr Pepper in my son's LEGO bin the other day", with another writing: "Teacher here: When I washed and deep-cleaned all the resources from the previous teacher, everyone around me mocked me. Little do they know how much germs and bacteria settle in these things."

"Suddenly, you realise this gets added to monthly chores", one TikToker penned, with someone saying they were "scared and intrigued" to clean their daughter's toys like this, as they'd never had more than a wipe down before.
On the Mega Bloks website, they recommend you clean your Mega Bloks building blocks by hand with warm water or a damp cloth." They also asked people to not "put Mega Bloks building blocks in washing machines or dishwashers or attempt to dry them in ovens, microwaves, or by using a hair dryer", and to instead just air dry them.
