Not only has the Princess of Wales got a crucial role in the Royal Family, she has an even bigger one at home.

As a mum of three, she's tasked with shaping the next generation of royals as she and husband Prince William bring up their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. It's likely the family-of-five have been spending lots of quality time together recently over the Christmas holidays with the children not due back at school until next week.

When they have downtime, they usually spend it at their country retreat of Anmer Hall in Norfolk, which is close to the Sandringham estate and where they can enjoy outdoor pursuits such as family bike rides.

One way Kate reportedly likes to keep it normal for her three children is by taking them to birthday parties of their friends in the area. And according to PEOPLE, Kate has surprised her Norfolk neighbours by remembering all the names of their children.

Both William and Kate are said to always be on the sidelines at 10-year-old George's football matches or while Charlotte, eight, plays hockey and a friend told the publication: "She is very good at setting boundaries, which helps keep everything running smoothly. But the family is the priority, always."

Meanwhile, a royal expert has warned that Prince William will be feeling 'angry' and 'guilty' over the recent attacks on Kate after he made a special promise to her parents. The controversial royal book Endgame painted an unflattering picture of Kate, describing her as a royal who works 'part-time' and has earned herself the nickname 'Katie Keen' because the palace press office hides her reportedly lower workload by saying she is "keen to learn".

It also branded the future queen 'cold' and claimed that despite being an advocate for better mental health, Kate ignored her sister-in-law Meghan Markle's "cries for help". But despite the couple appearing to ride out the storm caused by the book released at the end of last year, royal expert Jennie Bond believes William will still not be pleased with how his wife was portrayed.

The former BBC royal correspondent told OK!: "William feels guilty and angry because he promised Kate's parents that he would protect and look after her. "The attacks from Omid Scobie were vicious, so William will feel guilty because all she's done is fall in love with someone who happened to be a future king. There's a lot of baggage that comes with this – it’s a unique and different life which you've got to have a very thick skin for."

However, Jennie believes Kate has shown she is resilient and is drawing on her experience of royal life. She added: "She said: "Kate has demonstrated that she's the real deal and William constantly shows that he's hugely proud of her. Kate's strength is drawn from the fact that she was given such a long apprenticeship - those nine or ten years that she was allowed to see a little bit of what life would be like in the royal court were completely invaluable."
