Murder detectives have released images of two wanted males as they continue to probe the murder of Harry Pitman.

The Metropolitan Police issued two pictures in hopes the public will be able to identify them after the 16-year-old was stabbed to death at Primrose Hill on New Year's Eve. Harry had gone to the park to watch the New Year's fireworks with friends when he was attacked and tragically died of his injuries.

The teen, whose family described him as an "innocent victim" with a "heart of gold", had been involved in a fight shortly before midnight, at 11.40pm, police said. Releasing the two pictures on Thursday afternoon, the Met said it wanted to speak to both males in connection with the murder investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are working at pace to identify and speak to everyone in the immediate vicinity of the murder, and to that end, I have issued two images and am asking anyone who can name the people pictured to get in touch.

“Similarly, if you see yourself pictured, please contact us without delay. It may be that you have information that could help us, or that we can eliminate you from our enquiries. Harry’s family is devastated. He was a vibrant young man who should have had his life ahead of him. We continue to support them as they struggle to come to terms with their loss.”

Three people, aged 15, 16 and 18, have since been arrested on suspicion of Harry's murder and have all been bailed pending further investigation. The Met has also confirmed it ruled out the possibility of the fight being connected to gang violence or racially-aggravated crimes.

DCI Grogan added: “Our enquiries so far have established that there was no racial or gang element to this incident, it appears to have been a spontaneous fight between two people who didn’t know each other, that quickly escalated to extreme violence. Despite having made three arrests, I am still very keen to hear from anyone who has footage or information that could assist our investigation, particularly if you can name any of the people in the images.

“I would also like to thank everyone who has come forward so far, the response from the public has been exceptional. Please continue to come forward if you can help.” Anyone with information on the Harry Pitman investigation is urged to contact the Met through 101, or use the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
