A fitness lover who decided to paint on her own leggings before a work-out as part of a 'social experiment' has now come forward to apologise after she was asked to leave the gym.

Health-conscious Natalie Reynolds decided to paint a pair of 'leggings' over her swimsuit during a gym session on December 27, but soon declared she'd made 'a severe and continuous lapse' in judgment. In a video shared via X, the site formerly known as Twitter, the sporty 26-year-old could be seen 'wearing' blue body paint over nude swimsuit bottoms, with a 'sports bra' painted in purple over nipple covers.

Her fellow gymgoers were less than impressed by her startling attire, or lack thereof, with one infuriated man telling her: "If you don't have clothes on, you need to be out of here." In the footage, which was shared with the caption, 'Guy in the gym presses me for wearing painted pants', Natalie2, who goes by the username @onlynatreynolds, attempted to defend herself, stating that she did have clothes on, to which the man replied that her choice of outfit was 'not fine'.

Although Natalie, who lives in the US, initially appeared confident that her painted clothes were perfectly okay, X's community notes feature begged to differ, with readers making the following disclaimer under the vid: "The man in the video is protecting the overall gym etiquette according to which you should wear clothes suitable for exercise. Wearing unsuitable clothes or none at all is considered to be disrespectful towards the other. It is also a hygiene risk to others."

Several social media users also took issue with Natalie's clothing choice, with one person commenting: "Gym is to work out not going to show off painted cloths. She should be banned for life." Another agreed: "You were in the wrong. If the rules weren't clear enough, then gym etiquette should be obvious to you. People are there for gains, not whatever this is."

In a follow-up tweet, Natalie wrote: "I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgment and I don't expect to be forgive [sic]. I am simply here to apologise." There are doubts however as to how sincere her apology actually is, with Community Notes adding the following context: "Natalie Reynolds' apology is to be taken as satire and not in any way apologetic for the morally sickening video she made in the gym. The words used are an exact transcript of Logan Paul’s opening lines in his apology video from the controversial Suicide Forest debacle."
