Two tandem jumpers were filmed as they plunged at high speeds to the ground, after their parachute failed to open.

Beachgoers watched on in horror as they contemplated how they could rush over to help the sky divers.

But after the video was shared on social media, many people have commented that they will never have a go at the daredevil sport.

A local on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, Australia, managed to capture the heartstopping video.

The short but dramatic footage captures the moment the half-open chute flaps in the air as a person can be seen descending to the ground.

The clip, which was shot on Tuesday, sees another person crashing down towards the sand.

In the video, beachgoers can be heard mulling over how they can help the tandem jumpers, presuming they would be killed if they do not rush over.

One man can be heard saying in the video "What is going on?," as another man responds "This does not look good".

The first man then asks: "Should we race out to the beach?"

"I think we should," the other man says.

The pair reportedly ran towards the beach in Currimundi in a desperate bid to help the falling skydivers.

Luckily, the tandem jumpers landed on soft sand and were able to walk away from the terrifying ordeal unharmed.

Meanwhile, one parachute fell into the ocean and was later reportedly collected by local lifeguards.

Tandem jumping involves two people being strapped to each other during their skydive, where at least one of the jumpers is a certified instructor.

However, after the video was shared on social media, many users have taken to share that this is the reason they will forever avoid the daredevil sport.

Commenting on the heartstopping footage, one person said: "And that officially rules me out of going skydiving."

A second chimed in writing: "Oh this is exactly why I can’t bring my self to do it!"

While another put: "Might have slightly changed my idea of going again."
