Emmerdale aired a shock arrest on Thursday night as the village was left reeling over an explosive death bombshell.
Earlier this year, Amit Sharma made his debut as the father of Jai and Suni headed to the village after a recent DNA bombshell. It comes after Suni found out Jai was his brother and not his cousin in a recent episode, after Suni's father had an affair with Jai's mother Georgia. Georgia fell pregnant, and Rishi Sharma helped her raise his brother's child, claiming Jai to be his own son.
Only recently, Amit's son Suni was left reeling once again after learning that Amit was there when his brother Rishi died, who had been found dead at the bottom of the stairs in a supposed 'accidental fall'. Amit has insisted he's not responsible for Rishi's death and that it was a tragic accident but Suni had been left wary over his dad.
Earlier this year, Amit Sharma made his debut as the father of Jai and Suni (ITV)On Wednesday's episode, Suni insisted he was going to tell Jai the truth and later he dropped the bombshell, leaving Jai horrified as he accused Amit of trying to cover up what 'really happened', claiming he must have killed him. On Thursday night, Jai reported Amit to the police and he was arrested.
After being questioned and released by the police, Amit headed to The Woolpack, where word had got out about his arrest as Jimmy King confronted him and Suni tried to explain to his dad why he told Jai. Later, Amit and Suni attempted to talk to Jai, where Amit revealed Rishi's last moments.

A furious Jai confronted Amit to which the latter swore it was an accident and asked for forgiveness, to which Jai said: "Never! I want you gone, both of you! I never want to see you again." It comes after Amit star Anil Goutam recently teased a big secret could be on the way while he did not go into detail. Speaking to The Mirror and other press, former EastEnders star Anil teased "dark" scenes for his character, and hinted at big moments ahead.
He said: "So I guess he's the sort of person who you've only seen one aspect of him and he has a side to him. He's quite dark as he has a darker side to him, but not in his own mind. I don't think [he sees it] in his own mind. He does what he does to protect his family, but it's what he thinks is the right thing to do to protect his family. I think he can convince himself of pretty much anything being the right thing to protect his family."
