As 2023 comes to a close, the question that most fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are asking, is what will be in store for the couple over the next 12 months?
Rumours have been circulating that Netflix could cut ties with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, or vice versa, which follows on from how Spotify split from them earlier this year. However, this seems very unlikely as reports suggest that the couple has masses of projects in the pipeline.
While at a gala in LA back in November, Meghan gushed that she and her husband Harry "have so many exciting things on the slate". She also added: "I can't wait until we can announce them, but I'm just really proud of what we're creating," which hinted at a prosperous year ahead for the talented duo.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been working on projects with streaming giant Netflix (Getty Images)Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR has expertly analysed and predicted what she thinks might be on the cards for the Sussexes. "There [were] rumours in mid-2023 that streaming-giant Netflix would follow suit and cut ties with Harry and Meghan like Spotify, but I don’t think this will be the case," she revealed. "Netflix have publicly said that their ‘exciting journey’, with the couple won’t be over anytime soon," Lynn added.
The PR guru then touched on how Meghan and Harry’s Netflix contract is worth $100million (£80.7million) and does not expire until 2025. Fans of the Sussexes have enjoyed the couple's 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan, and Harry's Heart of Invictus documentary since they signed with Netflix.
Speculating about what the Californian-based couple might do next with the streaming giant, Lynn said: "I’m certain, audiences would like to see a second fly-on-the-wall documentary about how family life is for them now and see how the children have changed and grown-up. We really don’t get much of an insight into their home life, it’s more often or not related to the Royal family."
But getting back to reality, Lynn added that it seems their next Netflix project will be a foray into fiction. "Harry and Meghan paid a rumoured £3million for the film rights to Carley Fortune’s Meet Me At The Lake novel - a story that has similarities to Meghan and Harry’s real-life," she said.
"It’s a brave step from Netflix allowing the couple to step out of their areas of expertise and produce a film drama in which they have no previous experience in," Lynn added, before concluding: "But the book is a best-seller, so they’ll be hoping the couple can do the film version the same justice."
