Love Island star announces pregnancy eight months after tragic miscarriage

Love Island star Jessica Hayes announced she's pregnant in a wholesome post shared on Instagram.

The happy news comes eight months after she revealed she revealed she suffered a miscarriage. And now, in a Christmas-themed post, Jessica shared a montage of her and her son's festive celebrations as well as a video of her son cuddling up to her growing baby bump.

"Going into 2024 with the best gift ever," the former reality star wrote as the caption. "I think you all probably know what this means to me and how much I adore being a mum. Truly blessed. Excited for our future and to watch my darlings grow up together."

The clip included her zooming in on her Christmas tree, which had a sonogram pinned to it. Jessica also shared a sweet video of the baby announcement, which included a framed copy of the sonogram that had 'best gift ever' written on it as well as a sign that read 'Coming Spring 2024'.

"Soooo happy and excited for you my beautiful friend! I know how much this means to you. LOVE YOU!" one happy user commented. Her baby news comes after she announced she suffered a miscarriage in early 2023. At the time, she took to social media to share a picture of her bump and started the post with a trigger warning.

"I debated posting it feels really strange to open up and feel vulnerable but you know I’m always open and honest with you all and it’s hard to pretend I’m ok as it’s been a rough week," she wrote. "But I hope that someone going through the same this might help. I was pregnant and now I’m not."

She continued to write: "I spoke about my 1st loss and tbh I didn’t know I would be here again earlier this time but it still feels complete shit. It’s not really just losing a pregnancy it’s the plans you make, your vision of what that baby or child might of been like, what your family will look like and it gets taken away in a second. "When you're experiencing loss you have to pretend you are ok, wipe your tears and carry on because you have a little one, you cook dinner, you read the stories. You do the school run. Nothing stops."

Mum-of-one Jess then went on to go into more detail about the loss, explaining her trauma and panic as she revealed her future dreams. Jessica said: "I know I dream of more children one day I love being a mother so much and I hope I’m lucky and blessed enough to be telling a different story next time "
