Groom leaves wedding guests horrified with explicit vows to his soon-to-be-wife

Your wedding is supposed to be the best day of your life, so it makes sense that the memories you share will last you both a lifetime. For one bride however, the memories of her husband-to-be’s vows weren’t quite the romantic ‘fairy tale’ she may have been hoping for, and with the video going viral, she's probably vowed to try and forget them instead.

The trend for writing your wedding vows is showing no signs of waning but one groom took the ‘less is more’ approach, leaving his wife-to-be and wedding party in serious shock. The clip, which was shared on TikTok by videographer Samuel Foree for CK Entertainment Services, showed the soon-to-be-wed couple, Kaitlin Brooks and Cody Sheehan, set to say their forever vows.

“FELLAS, this is your sign to go write those vows… now,” the video’s caption read, as the TikTok began after the bride had read her vows and her soon-to-be-spouse was asked to say his. The groom, Cody, can be seen looking a little nervous as he launches into his vows. Glancing at his soon-to-be wife and the officiant, he then says in front of the crowd: “I promise to smack that a** every chance I get.”

With both the groom and some guests laughing nervously at the comment, the officiant is then heard asking him if he’d like to continue: “That’s all I got,” he replied. The officiant asked him again: “Is that it?” “Yeah,” he said. In the video a voice can be heard from the audience, urging him: “C’mon Cody, are you sure?”

“I didn’t write nothin’ out,” he admits before the officiant says incredulously: “That’s what you’re going out with?” “That’s what I’m going with,’ he confirms. With a staggering 9.6 million views since it was posted on TikTok, many users have commented in both shock and horror after hearing his vows: "Even if that’s the kind of humour they have together, the wedding vows should’ve been serious," said one viewer, while another admitted: "I’d become a runaway bride like immediately."

“‘Come on Cody’ you can hear the disappointment in that guy’s voice,” said one viewer, while another agreed, saying: “‘Come on Cody’ even the crowd was like?? Dude omg I would cry.” Another questioned his mindset in that marital moment, saying: “Even if he didn’t write nothing down, he couldn’t think of a few things he liked about his wife??? So that’s all he says? The officiant keeps questioning him giving him EVERY chance to say more and he doesn’t... girl i’m so sorry.”
