NFL legend Tom Brady has revealed that he's lost a whopping 10lbs (4.5kg) since retiring from the league at the end of last season.

The icon announced his retirement in February after an impressive 23-season career, during which he won an unmatched seven Super Bowls. He enjoyed two decades and six championships with the New England Patriots before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won Super Bowl LV.

Brady, who was crowned Super Bowl MVP five times and NFL MVP three times, decided to hang up his boots to spend more time with his family following his public split from partner Gisele Bundchen. He's also been pursuing other interests, buying minority stakes in the Las Vegas Raiders, the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and English football club Birmingham City.

At 46, Brady is preparing to join Fox Sports, having signed a 10-year contract worth £295million to commentate on games for the top network. Despite rumours of a second retirement reversal earlier in the season, Brady dismissed any such move - perhaps due to his incredible body transformation.

After retiring from the Buccaneers following their playoff loss to Dallas Cowboys, Tom Brady shared he's lost a surprising 10lbs. Despite retirement taking a toll on his physical well-being, he claims that it's lowered his stress levels.

During his 'Let's Go!' podcast, ex wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald pointed out Brady looked 'lighter'. Responding to this, Brady confirmed: "Yeah, I'm down about 10 lbs., but I'm actually very fit right now. I haven't had the stress that I had while I was playing so that's allowed me to focus a little bit more on my physical health.

"But I think it's important for everyone. Physical and mental health is so important to all of us. Without that, what do we really have?

"You could prioritise a lot of other things - career, kids, relationships, family, greater good, community. But at the end of the day, physical and mental health should sit at the top of the pyramid because if we don't have that, we have nothing."

Though not an active NFL player anymore, Brady remains a keen spectator. He provides commentary on big game developments on social media, hinting at how he might perform in his Fox Sports role next season.

On December 18, Brady took to Instagram to censure Indianapolis Colts' quarterback, Gardner Minshew, for a dangerous throw that ended in his teammate, Michael Pittman Jr., taking a hard hit from Pittsburgh Steelers' Damontae Kazee. The hit led to Pittman Jr. sustaining a concussion. Brady wrote: "Nobody likes seeing players get hurt. But hard hits happen. QBs should not be throwing the ball in areas where they are exposing their own teammates to these types of hits.

"Coaches need to coach better, QBs needs to read coverages and throw the ball to the right places and defenders should aim for the right hitting areas. To put the blame on the defense player all the time is just flat out wrong. Need better QB play!! It's not OK for QBs to expose your WRs to such hits because of poor decisions!"
