Christmas is a magical time for kids, but sometimes it turns to chaos.
If your little ones are giddy and out of control as soon as the festive season begins, you know how hard it can be to hide their presents from them. Plus, you know you're going to be woken up at 5am on Christmas morning and dragged downstairs to see if Santa has made a visit.
But, one mother has reached her wit's end after her eight-year-old daughter had sneakily hunted out her Christmas gifts and opened them all before the big day. Now, she's considering telling her tot the truth about Mr Claus - potentially ruining the festive spirit.
Taking to Mumsnet, an anonymous woman explained that she had spent 'weeks' purchasing and wrapping the presents and hidden them in the house - while also having to juggle school admin and a full-time job. But her child discovered the toys meant for her and her big brother for Christmas.
"This has just f*****g topped it off," the post reads. "What's the bloody point? Do I just tell her there's no father Xmas and ruin Xmas for her and her brother or do I re-wrap everything? I feel like walking away. I've had enough."

Hundreds of parents rushed to the comments section to give their thoughts on the situation, with many reasoning with the child. "That sounds exhausting and frustrating," one user commented. "But it's not her fault, she's just an excited child. I would rewrap in different paper."
Another person said: "Tell her the presents are from you and put some small ones in her stocking from Santa." While a third added: "Don't ruin it for her. She's eight - she didn't know she was going to find Santa's presents - she probably just thought she might find yours."
However, others encouraged the mum to take a more stern approach - even if it did mean revealing some harsh truths about Christmas. "Don't re-wrap," one user wrote. "Don't create any extra work for yourself at all. Either she'll realise or she won't. Age eight is about the age a lot of children start questioning the existence of Father Christmas, anyway."
Another parent said they couldn't 'believe' the child had unwrapped all of the gifts. "Don't wrap them again," they urged. "She needs to understand there are consequences for that behaviour. You decide what the consequences are."
