Married At First Sight's Mel Schilling has shared a positive health update after undergoing surgery to remove a tumour in her battle against colon cancer. The 51 year old relationship expert was delighted to reveal that the cancer hadn't spread, and thanked fans for their support during this challenging time.
Reality TV star, Mel Schilling, praised the NHS staff with great warmth. "Everyone from my consultant to the surgical team and especially the wonderful nurses managing my recovery have been just superb," she expressed. "It's not just their professionalism but also their genuine concern, bedside manner (especially the nurses) and their endlessly sunny disposition, despite working up to 14 hour days."
"I owe all of these wonderful people my life and I will be forever indebted to them. The NHS is a unique, precious institution we need to make sure it's here to serve our children and our children's children."

MAFS expert Mel has issued an update on her cancer diagnosis (@mel_schilling1/Instagram)She raised hopes of returning home for Christmas after a successful surgery. "Now, it's time to focus on getting my a** out of here in time for Christmas," she explained with optimism.
Her pals from the show conveyed their support soon after. Shona Manderson was one of those, stating: "Sending you so much love!" As did Jay Howard who mentioned: "So happy to hear this!! Goodbye Terry wishing you a speedy recovery @mel_schilling1 xx."

Just a day before, Mel had shared the devastating news of her diagnosis on Instagram. Posting a picture of herself with her partner and their daughter, she wrote: "YOU HAVE CANCER." She explained that she first felt severe stomach cramps while filming in Australia, which were initially dismissed as constipation by her doctor.
"However, after returning to the UK and getting a scan, she was diagnosed with colon cancer."
