A divorced gran has vowed to go on dates with 30 different men - after 'missing out on being single.'

Michelle Hernandez, 54, wants to "enjoy being alone" after a number of failed relationships. Michelle, from Goodyear, Arizona, married her childhood sweetheart, whom she met in her teens.

They divorced in 2000 and she entered into several other failed relationships, the last finishing in May. A month later Michelle, a mum-of-one and gran-of-one, decided to launch "project 30." She set her sights on 30 dates with 30 men - and has already been out with 27 in just six months. Her highlights include a trip to Las Vegas, off-roading, boating, and an escape room.

And Michelle now recommends every single woman try casual dating - because it's helped her "grow as a person" and "be more confident." She said: "After my breakup in May I coped by using my 'project 30' to build myself up again. None of my relationships ever worked out for me - I jumped from one to the next."

"I never had a chance to date or even have male friends my whole life. My dating project was a way for me to make new friendships with men and get out of my comfort zone. It has done that."

Michelle had been "heartbroken and crying" after her last serious relationship came to an end in May. She says she's much happier now - although not every date has been a success. She met most of the men on dating apps.

Michelle said: "I've had some great dates so far but some bad dates too. They really wanted to date me exclusively but with my project I don’t want that. I used to never be single because I never wanted to be alone. Now, I'm happy being alone for the first time in my life."

She recommends other relationship-lovers give the casual dating challenge a go. Michelle added: "It's going to feel like I met a big goal in my life - I'm going to feel accomplished when I finish the challenge.

"It has helped me grow a lot as a person, and be more confident. Normally I'd have gone straight back into another relationship by now. It has taught me to date smarter and not fall into things so quickly."
