Josie Gibson in terrifying hospital dash as she 'couldn't breathe'
Josie Gibson has opened up about her hospital dash after flying back from I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
The presenter, 38, revealed she 'couldn't breathe' due to severe tonsillitis and her return to This Morning was 'touch and go'. Josie appeared on Thursday's Loose Women to talk about the jungle series, where chat soon turned to her recent health scare.
Josie said: "When I came out, I was on the flight coming home and I just started to feel really unwell, shivering. Then when I got back, I had severe tonsillitis, I couldn't breathe so I got taken to hospital on Friday.

Get Me Out of Here (ITV)"They put me on a drip and gave me loads of steroids to bring the swelling down so I could breathe again. It was a bit touch and go whether I could have made This Morning, I just want to thank everybody [at the hospital].
"I would not have been able to do This Morning without them and they really took care of me, so thank you to all the doctors and nurses." Josie joked she was 'hanging on by a thread', she added: "I was sat there in A&E and they said: 'Josie Gibson', I heard people go: 'That's that lady off the jungle' and I was like: 'Yeah, that's me!'"

Despite the scary hospital stint, Josie returned to This Morning on Monday and had a huge welcome home party in the ITV studio. The presenter was eliminated just before the final of the ITV jungle series, where Nigel Farage, Tony Bellew and Sam Thompson were announced as the finalists with the latter being crowned King of the Jungle.

I wasn't the winner but this is lovely. It is so good to be back, I can't even explain to you."
On Monday's return show, Josie was joined by Sam, 31, in the ITV studio to talk about his time in the jungle and life since winning the show. However, it wasn't long until Sam was getting involved in some presenting duties with Josie and co-host Craig Doyle as he helped with Spin to Win.
Viewers were quick to question if this meant Sam was being lined up as a This Morning presenter as they begged for him to co-host the ITV show with Josie. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Sam to host @this morning with @Josiestweet #ThisMorning", a different account put: "Sam needs to present this show #ThisMorning", another viewer said: "#ThisMorning @thismorning The new presenters are Josie & Sam" while another added: "We need Sam for spin to win every day now that’s what I’m talking bout #ThisMorning."
