Walkers discontinues sixth flavour as it tells devastated fans 'we're sorry'

Walkers has announced plans to discontinue yet another popular snack after a string of products vanished from shelves.

Crisp fans have been left devastated in recent months after Walkers decided to remove five different crisp flavours from its line-up, and now there's a sixth on the chopping block too. The company has already gotten rid of salt and vinegar Quavers, Walkers Max Flamin' Hot, the Peking Spare Rib oriental crackers, Worcester Sauce crisps, and Regal Mint & Lamb Sensations.

And just days before Christmas, Walkers left even more people heartbroken as it announced it was no longer making Cheese Mixups, which were a variety bag filled with Tangy Cheese Doritos, Cheese and Onion French Fries, Cheese Bugles, and Wotsits.

News of the discontinuation was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, after one fan asked: "@walkers_crisps have u stopped making the cheese mix-ups?"

The official Walkers account responded with an apology, as they informed the disappointed fan: "We're sorry to break it to you, Alex we're not making this flavour anymore."

Although Walkers has confirmed it is no longer making Cheese Mix-ups, you can still find them at several supermarkets that still have packets in stock, including Asda, which is selling a 120g bag for £1.25. However, they are out of stock in Iceland and no longer appear in the search results on the Tesco website.

And while the cheese version of the variety bag is no longer available, there has been no confirmation on whether the sister flavour, the Spicy Mix-Ups, has been discontinued as well. The spicy bag contains Chilli Heatwave Doritos, Worcester Sauce French Fries, Flamin' Hot Wotsits, and Flamin' Hot Monster Munch. Walkers have not confirmed the fate of the Spicy Mix-Ups, but they are out of stock on Amazon and the Co-Op, suggesting they may have been taken off shelves too.

The sad news means sixth crisp flavours have been axed by Walkers in recent months. The company also upset peanut fans this month after it announced it was also getting rid of their Max Wasabi Peanuts.

Sharing their heartbreak, one fan wrote on social media: "@Walkers_Crisps have you discontinued the Max Wasabi Peanuts? I can't find them anywhere!" Walkers were quick to reply with a spokesperson saying: "We're sorry to break it to you, but we're not making this flavour anymore."
