Tommy Fury makes young fan's dreams come true after devastating diagnosis

Tommy Fury helped bring a smile to the face of a poorly fan as he really made the teenager's Christmas.

The boxer paid a visit to Scarlett, who had to quit the sport herself after being struck down with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that occurs in bones or in the soft tissue around the bones. They met up and spoke about their shared interest - and enjoyed their favourite treat!

The 16-year-old and Tommy took part in a Q&A session and the meeting was made possible by children's charity Rays of Sunshine, who brighten the lives of seriously ill youngsters across the UK. The former Love Islander made a big splash as he told her all about his rise in the ring and of course his showbiz life.

The charity's social media page showed off some sweet photos of the pair and they wrote: "Scarlett, you are the real fighter! 16-year-old Scarlett is a huge boxing fan, but she had to step away from her favourite sport when she was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in 2019.

"She might not be in the ring for now, but she still loves to keep up with her favourite boxer, @TommyFury. For her wish, we arranged for Tommy and Scarlett to meet. Scarlett especially loves how dedicated Tommy is to his sport, and the pair had a full Q&A session where he gave her some great tips and insight into his life.

"This was while enjoying their joint favourite food, cheesecake! Thank you to Tommy and his team for helping us make Scarlett's wish come true After meeting her boxing hero, Scarlett said: "I can't believe that just happened - he's exactly how I hoped he would be!"

Tommy says his proudest achievement this year is becoming a dad, as he opened up about fatherhood on the red carpet of the Sports Personality of the Years Awards. Speaking to Love Island star Michael Griffiths, he expressed: "I mean the biggest thing that's happened to me this year has got to be that I've had a baby. That's the number one thing when you forget about all the fights for a minute.

"That's the single most amazing thing that I've ever done and will ever do. So that takes the top spot for 2023 for me." It's been quite a year for the boxer and Molly-Mae Hague and in July, Tommy got down on one knee to propose to his long-term girlfriend. However despite their happy ending, over recent weeks fans have speculated the couple decided to go their separate ways after spotting Molly hiding her engagement ring while Tommy spent weeks away from his family.
