MAFS star Ella Morgan breaks silence over Strictly Come Dancing rumours

On the back of her success on Married At First Sight, speculation has been rife over Ella Morgan being in talks with BBC bosses to join Strictly Come Dancing as the first trans contestant next year.

And now, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Ella has broken her silence and confirmed that she would love to 'represent her community' on the show. The star, who found fame on the dating reality TV programme this year, made history on the E4 show for being the first transgender female. And during her turbulent stint on the show, viewers saw Ella coming out to the other participants in the experiment in an emotional speech at one of the first dinner parties.

And so now, with her growing fan base, reports have been circulating since Ella signed up to Zara McDermott's agency, who secured her a slot on this year's show after finding fame on Love Island. When asked if the rumour was true, the star coyly replied: "Yes I would absolutely love, out of everything, probably to do Strictly. Can I dance? I'm not really sure."

The 29-year-old star added: "I've not really had experience but I think I've got some moves. I would absolutely love to do it and I would love to be the first trans person to represent my community. I probably would last one week, but yes I would love to do it." Strictly has become one of the most inclusive shows on TV after embracing same sex partnerships and disabled contestants, such as deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who won the competition in 2021.

Ella has made no secret of the fact that she is determined to raise awareness of the transgender community and has openly spoken out against the Government's guidance on the subject. A source told the Mailonline earlier this week that she has been promised a chat with BBC bosses for her to join the popular ballroom dance show next year. The source said: "It would be a dream come true for her, obviously she would adore wearing the sparkly costumes but also the message it sends to the nation about her transition... all she has ever wanted is to be accepted."

They added: "Strictly has never been afraid of being inclusive or alienating viewers and that has worked in their favour, as now it's drawn in new audiences. Bosses want to continue reaching new viewers and breaking boundaries, a transgender contestant will certainly be a Strictly first." If the BBC sign the reality TV star next year, it could mean that she will follow in the footsteps of former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach, who was crowned winner last weekend. Ellie competed in the final along with Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams.

And Layton recently spoke about the joy performing in a same sex partnership with Nikita Kuzmin had given him, as it spread a "ripple effect of love across the UK." He also stated that being able to represent the LGBTQ+ community was his "biggest achievement." Speaking last week, Layton said: 'It is the first time they've had someone that has been so, a male celebrity that has been queer, of course they have had them in the past but someone that has been so flamboyant. "

He added: "It is the little ripple effect of love that has been spread across the UK... in these times, people are just a little bit grumpy, I'm like cheer up girls, it's just a cheeky high kick and a flip and a lip so just get into it and that's my biggest achievement."
