It's clear star quarterback Jalen Hurts is perturbed by the state the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in. Losers of three straight games, in which the usually explosive Eagles offense was held to under 20 points, Philadelphia's leader had some choice words for his teammates.

"I've been talking about execution all year, being on the same page, everyone being on the same page," Hurts told reporters after the Eagles, 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. "We didn't execute. I don't think we're committed enough. We're all committed enough. Just got to turn it around. You know, it's a challenge that we have to embrace. Just continue to see it through."

When asked if he could elaborate on what he meant by his "commitment" comment, Hurts refused to do so. Still, Hurts made sure to include himself among the people who deserved blame after losing a close contest with the Seahawks.

"We've got to pick ourselves out of this ... We have to make an internal change in how we attack things," Hurts continued. "How we come to work every day. It starts with the little things how committed we are to doing what we're doing.

"And it all starts with me, the quarterback. It's a challenge I'm embracing. As challenging as these times are, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. Just a matter of believing."

Before the game, Hurts was reported to have flu-like symptoms, hindering his play. Hurts originally was questionable to play Saturday after failing to participate in practice.

Still, the 25-year-old gave his best shot against Seattle, but it was clear he was still missing that extra spark. Hurts completed 17 of 31 passes for 143 yards and threw two costly interceptions in the fourth quarter.

"It's a matter of being on the same page," the Eagles signal caller added. "It takes everyone being all in, in all aspects. And it starts with me. There's multiple opportunities out there. In the end, there's just not another way you'd have it. The trust that we have in one another, how much we communicate as players ... We have to be better; I have to be better.

"Minimize the mistakes, the penalties, the mental errors. Play team football and it starts with me leading that. We've lost games because I can be better. That will change everything, and I accept that."

In two of the Eagles' last three losses, they were outplayed by the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys on both ends of the ball. The usually high-powered offense was held to 32 total points against the 49ers and Cowboys, while the defense gave up 75 combined points.

This latest loss has dropped the former NFC East leaders to a tie with the Cowboys and has pushed the 49ers as the team with the best record in the conference. With the Eagles' Super Bowl aspirations, it remains to be seen how Hurts' comments will affect the team with so little time left in the season.
