A horrified woman listened to an answerphone message where an attacker allegedly raped her disabled mother as she tried to call for help, it was reported.
The attack took place after the alleged rapist followed the vulnerable pensioner to her home in Paris, France, on December 16 and took advantage of her physical frailty for the assault, French media reported.
It was reported that the woman was able to call her daughter for help, but the call went to voicemail when she did not pick up the phone. In the recording, the alleged victim can be heard begging her attacker not to rape her. On the alleged tape, the man can be heard reportedly replying: “Spread your thighs”.
After hearing the message the woman’s daughter alerted a neighbour who sprinted to the alleged victim’s apartment and scared off the rapist, reports continue. A man remains in custody after police caught up with a 28-year-old man, near the scene of the alleged assault and arrested him on suspicion of committing the alleged crime.
The elderly woman was taken to hospital for an examination following the alleged attack. The woman lives alone and “suffers from frontal and temporal degeneration of the brain” according to a report in local media. The disease is understood to reduce her mobility and physical capability.

According to the alleged victim’s testimony, the man took advantage of the woman’s inability to resist his efforts to undress her before he forced himself on her. Police have said the alleged attacker is 6.4ft (1.95m) tall. He denied committing the offence, reportedly claiming that the woman invited him to her home and said she wanted to sleep with him. After being played the recording he reportedly maintained his position.
