Booze-burglar caught breaking into neighbour's house for cocktail ingredients
A Florida man was so desperate to make himself a screwdriver in the early hours of the morning that he broke into a neighbour's home for the right ingredients.
The break-in occurred on Thanksgiving Day, but the criminal only turned himself in after the Polk County Sheriff’s Office released video footage showing him opening up a door and sneaking in. Minutes later, the thief, in a baseball cap and red hoodie, was seen walking out, holding a vodka and orange juice, getting ready for a breakfast of champions.
The local man quickly admitted to his drunken error and turned himself in and accepted the consequences. The Sherrif's Department posted on Facebook: "On November 23rd, at about 5:30am, the man in this video entered into an apartment. Problem is, it wasn't his apartment. Even more problematic was that he stole something from the apartment.

He was caught on camera (Polk County Sheriff's Office/Facebook)"The victim said the door used by the suspect is a secondary door--one they don't often use, and they had no idea it was unlocked. The unknown suspect walked in, uninvited of course, then walked back out with a bottle of Svedka vodka and a bottle of Florida's Natural Orange Juice.

"That's right, this burglar stole the ingredients to make a screwdriver and left. Detectives say he tried to open the door of the apartment across the hallway, but it was locked, and he left.
He later turned himself in (Polk County Sheriff's Office/Facebook)"The total value of the theft was just over $35," ended the statement from the Sherrif's Department. An update stated, "This suspect turned himself in and was booked into jail for the burglary."
