This hack costs next to nothing and will have your oven trays gleaming again.

Oven trays are known for collecting stubborn grease the more often they are used, which can be difficult to lift as it builds, but as one of the most commonly needed items in your kitchen, it's important to tackle this and clean off any grease regularly.

The longer you leave it unattended it will keep building up and become even harder to remove, so building this task into your regular to-do list should be a priority. With this incredibly simple hack - it couldn't be easier and will turn from something you dread having to handle into a complete breeze.

This inexpensive hack quickly impressed social media users when content creator, @tanyahomeinspo, posted a video on her TikTok account about just how easy it actually is to get stubborn grease to "slide right off" your oven trays - and it does so without the corrosive chemicals that are present in many dedicated oven cleaners.

Tanya's method involves simply freezing some washing-up liquid in an ice cube tray, and then scrubbing the grease off with the frozen soapy cubes itself, and it works a treat. All you need is to do this over the sink, which Tanya had filled with soapy water in her video.

The frozen washing-up liquid cubes will likely melt in the process, because of the warmth of your hand as you hold onto it, so it will become "mushy" towards the end of use, Tanya notes in the video.

Viewers were so impressed that the video has wracked up just under 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments. One wrote, "Life changing, wow amazing!" and another commented: "genius!"

A third joked: "It's good - just hope no one pops over and fancies the funky-coloured ice cubes in their drink", to which Tanya replied lightheartedly "I won't be held responsible".

Washing-up liquid is available from many high street stores and online retailers alike. For those who are fans of buying in bulk, there are great value multipacks available on Amazon, but if you prefer to buy as you need, you can buy a single bottle of own-brand washing-up liquid from Tesco for just 69p, or even cheaper from Sainsbury's at 62p.

Asda sells washing-up liquid starting at just 50p a bottle and B&M has a range of options available, including Fairy Liquid, for around a £1 per bottle.
