It was a weekend to remember for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, who ended it at the summit of the Premier League.

The Reds weren't at their fluent best but they got the job done against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, with late goals from Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott sealing a 2-1 win. And with Arsenal dropping points against Aston Villa later in the day, the Reds are now a point clear at the top of the league ahead of this week's round of fixtures.

Klopp and co lock horns with arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday and will fancy their chances of inflicting even more misery on their beleaguered manager, Erik ten Hag. As we build up to that match, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest news from Anfield...

The champions halted a four-match winless run with a 2-1 victory over Luton Town on Kenilworth Road on Sunday but are four points behind Liverpool after previously dropping points against the Reds, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

But Grealish played down any talk of a crisis at the Etihad and instead showered the league's other top teams with praise in the aftermath of Sunday's match.

Legendary Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has landed his first role since hanging up his boots for good - and it's with Liverpool's investors, RedBird Capital Partners.

Ibrahimovic, 41, called time on his career with AC Milan back in the summer but will continue working with the Italian giants in his new role.

RedBird, an American investment group, acquired the Italian giants in a €1.2billion (£1bn) deal around 18 months ago. They also have stakes in Fenway Sports Group - the company who own Liverpool - and the Alpine Formula 1 team.
