Princess Charlotte could be seen bursting into a fit of laughter as she picked up a set of very coincidental baby clothes.

The young royal joined mum Catherine, Princess of Wales and brothers Prince George and Prince Louis on a recent visit to The Baby Bank in Maidenhead.

The four of them helped out by packing referral bags containing clothes and toys for local families struggling to afford gifts and household basics in the run-up to Christmas.

A new video shared by Kensington Palace shows Kate pulling up in a car with the children before they all start to bring in donations from the boot.

In one sweet moment from the trip last month, Charlotte, wearing a red jumper and denim skirt, is seen giggling with her mum as they find a babygrow that features a Welsh flag. The eight-year-old royal, who customarily takes Wales as her surname as result of her parent's royal titles, says: “This is Welsh!”

The video also shows them getting to work by picking out toys for children, and dropping them into gift bags. Louis, who is wearing a Fair Isle jumper, picks out a King Kong toy for one boy and comments "this is a big guy" before the children start to write gift tags.

Kate, dressed in jeans and a comfy roll-neck jumper, tells the children they have to sort through some bags full of donated clothes. Louis empties the bags and Charlotte neatly folds the items, while a colourful shirt catches George's eye.

In one part of the clip, the Princess of Wales tells George: “You can see how rewarding this work is, knowing that you’re helping out others.” The Baby Bank, which was originally founded in Windsor, has been running a Christmas Pyjama Appeal for the past five years. It relies on donations from the public, and the royals were told that the charity expects to distribute 1,500 bags over the festive season. According to the video, a quarter of families in the UK with a child under the age of five are living in poverty.
