Chef's easy egg poaching trick 'changed his life' - with three key ingredients
Poached eggs feel like such a treat when you cut into them and the bright yolk oozes out all over the plate - but truthfully, it can be a nightmare to cook them to perfection and smash your technique.
They're such a fantastic staple breakfast, but how do you get them spot on each and every time? It can feel like such a fluke when you manage to get them just right, but one chef has shared the trick he uses and he's claimed that just two ingredients when you're poaching are "life-changing." Jason (@jortskitchen) revealed that water and white vinegar are the things you'll need to ensure perfect poached eggs.
But unlike with other hacks, he uses vinegar and water beforehand to keep the eggs pristine. In the video, he said: "I don't think you understand how much this secret poached egg hack changed my life." He then instructed people to "add equal parts water and vinegar to a bowl and then crack in your eggs leaving them for at least ten minutes."
He then explained that "they'll form a soft layer on the outside" so when they're cooked, you "won't get all those sploogy bits", meaning when the egg comes out a little snottier than you'd prefer.
He claimed it would result in "the best-poached egg you've ever had." He then covered his eggs in hot sauce, before asking followers what their favourite way to "have an egg" is.

In the comments, someone else said that "having fresh eggs" was also a trick to make them more perfect, while others questioned the taste. "How does the egg not taste like vinegar?", one probed.
Someone else said they were fantastic, though, writing: "Made poached eggs for the first time today like this. 10/10." Another TikToker suggested: "Just use a fine mesh strainer and drain away the water whites, no more messy poached eggs."
