Prince Louis baffles fans with missing detail in royals' new Christmas card snap
The Prince and Princess of Wales have released the heartwarming family snap that adorns their 2023 Christmas card - but one small detail has left fans baffled.
The black-and-white photo shows the couple proudly posing with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. All five wear relaxed light shirts and denim in the snap taken by renowned portrait photographer Josh Shinner. William and Kate can be standing next to each other while George poses beside his mum. Charlotte sits in the chair in the middle of the picture with Louis beside her while dad William rests his hand on his youngest son's shoulder.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: "Gorgeous photo! What happened to Prince Louis' finger? It looks like it's missing." Another said: "Is Prince Louis missing a finger? What in the AI is going on." However, another fan pointed out: "I think the missing finger is how he’s holding the arm of the chair…"
The image of the family was taken earlier this year during a photography session at Windsor Castle. A statement released on behalf of Kate and William said: "The Prince and Princess of Wales are very pleased to share a new photograph of their family.

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla chose a Coronation Day photo taken at Buckingham Palace for their Christmas card this year. The image shows Charles and Camilla in the palace throne room following the Coronation in May. Taken by photographer Hugo Burnand, it captures the couple standing side-by-side, with Charles wearing the Imperial State Crown and Camilla wearing Queen Mary's Crown. The King is also pictured wearing a coronation tunic and the robe of estate.

She also wears her coronation dress designed by Bruce Oldfield.
The image - taken on the day of the coronation, May 6 2023 - has been selected for the couple's second Christmas card since Charles became King. Christmas images used to decorate official festive cards are regularly released by senior members of the royal family with the cards sent to friends, family and colleagues.
