Kim Kardashian urged to 'privately apologise' to Taylor Swift amid bitter feud

Kim Kardashian has been urged to apologise to Taylor Swift - but her pal says she should settle things with the singer in private.

Taylor recently admitted that the reality star "took her down psychologically" as she opened up about her famous feud with Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West in the new in-depth interview as she was crowned TIME Magazine's Person of the Year. The singer said the long-running feud took her "down psychologically" to a place she had not been before.

The drama, which began back in 2009, was ramped up again in 2016 when the rapper released his hit song Famous, which left Taylor upset over lyrics and accompanying music video. The lyrics said: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b**ch famous."

Following the fallout of the lyrics, Taylor's representative said at the time: "Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b***h famous.'"

And then Kim released a video of a call between the singer and rapper that seemed to prove that Taylor was on board with the song. It was later revealed that it was edited to make it look like Taylor gave consent when the full video was released.

Now, almost eight years ago, Taylor has opened up on the situation, spilling to TIME: "That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year."

She went on: "I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard."

Now, Kim's close friend has told the Skims founder to make amends with Taylor, and admitted that Kanye is bound to "take some responsibility." The pal, Kid Capri, told TMZ: "[If I were Taylor] I would want an apology but I wouldn’t want an apology on social media. I wouldn't take it as genuine.

"Kim was riding for her husband, they come together, but what’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. Those two women need to get on the phone, conversate and move on," he said before added: "It started with Kanye, so I think he will take some responsibility for it. It shouldn’t be something that’s sorted in public. There’s a way to carry the situation, not everyone needs to be in their business."
