Angry neighbour 'constantly' being filmed by next door plots petty revenge
Doorbell cameras can bring householders a sense of security that they may not have previously felt - but sometimes, they can be a source of drama for neighbours who prefer to live a private life.
One resident was getting sick of constantly being filmed by their neighbour, and they said that they felt the person next door was "invading their privacy" - so they were looking for ways to get petty revenge on them. Taking to Reddit's Neighbours from Hell forum, they explained that their neighbour was always filming them, and there's "no reasoning with them about moving their cameras."
In their post, they fumed: "Neighbour constantly films us as we are in our yard, driveway, walking dogs, cooking outside, pool, coming and going in our cars. There is no reasoning with them about moving their cameras. We hear the 'You are being recorded' 200 times a day. Every time we move, like walking around or playing with kids. We cannot put up a higher fence or plant bushes. I'm sick of their s**t and want ideas of how to set their Ring camera to go off all night long and keep them awake. This is the only way to get them to stop invading our privacy."
In the comments, people were sympathetic to them, sharing suggestions of how they could make the neighbour realise how annoying it was. One wrote: "Maybe a Christmas decoration that's shaped like a person and moves? You could set up a timer so that it turns on from 1-4am or something like that. If they're getting that many notifications they might have them silenced on their devices and not even realise it's going off at night. I'd still give it a try though. I think they can edit the zones on their ring camera to not cover your yard for motion detection."
Someone else commented: "A flock of chickens that free-range in your yard. Bonus points if you get an accidental rooster. If that's not your jam, then lots of bird feeders and bird baths. If your area has squirrels or possums, try and attract those babies in! You can attract birds to your yard not just with feeders, but tons of native wildflowers and bushes that will make good hiding spots for birds and also attract the insects the birds like to eat. Just buy a seed bag mix of native annual and perennial wildflowers for your part of the world, and hand-broadcast then rake in the seeds according to your climate zone. Have fun!"

Another Redditor suggested a "tube dude", which is a "wacky waving arm flailing inflatable tube man" to make their notifications go off at strange times, with another suggesting "Plastic pink flamingos with the wings that twirl in the wind."
