Mum seriously disturbed by 'inappropriate' lullaby sang to her baby daughter
A mum was left horrified by an 'innapropriate' lullaby her brother sang to his niece - but others don't see what the problem is.
Getting kids to sleep can be a nightmare, especially when they are babies, and sometimes parents and family members need to get creative with their efforts to settle tots down.
One man thought he'd hit the jackpot with his four-month-old niece as he'd found a lullaby that instantly soothes her fusses and cries.
However, when the baby's mother found out what lyrics he'd been singing to her daughter, she was seriously disturbed.
The bloke took to Reddit to admit that he did have a 'witch phase' when he was younger, which resulted in his sister accusing him of casting a spell on her baby.

The unnamed man explained: "Normally, it's just me and the baby, so I have gotten used to it being just the two of us. So far, one of the few songs that has worked is the lullaby from a show called Centaurworld".
While the melody might be soothing, the lyrics to the song are questionable.
"Hush now, hide, all you little ones, rush now, into the middle of nowhere, singing and laughter will die," he sang to his niece.
"Dreamless sleep follows the Nowhere King. When his kingdom comes, darkness is nigh. Quiet, crawl through the in-between; silent, secretive feeling of fearsome hatred that reaches the skies. You will bring joy to the Nowhere King when he sees the light leaving your eyes."
The bloke said the song has a "beautiful but sad melody" and it usually does help the baby to sleep. But his efforts were scuppered one night when her parents were in the room listening in.
As she drifted off asleep, her parents' eyes widened in shock; at the song he had decided to sing. His sister approached him and asked him why he chose such an "inappropriate" song.
He said: "She reminded me how I went through a witch phase in my teens. She honestly thought I was repeating some kind of spell." The man later realised that the lyrics referring to the "Nowhere King" may have been "a reference to the devil or something."
He added: "I can understand why the parents were horrified by the lyrics, but I honestly was only singing it because the tune is very relaxing. And at four months old, how would she even know what I was saying?"
Redditers however came to his defence and said they couldn't see an issues with his song choice, especially as some children's lullabies are quite dark.
One person wrote: "The lyrics to rock-a-bye-baby are about a baby falling out of a tree, for crying out loud, lots of lullabies are weird that way."Another person added: "Some traditional lullabies have rather dark lyrics."

While a third person, who said she was a mum wrote: "I've sung some questionable songs to my baby. Now that she's two and singing along I try to be more aware to put positive vibes into her head. There’s enough scary and dark stuff out there already."
Some argued that the sister was overreacting, especially as the baby wouldn't understand the words of the song.
One person wrote: "Honestly, I was expecting something much darker when you said inappropriate. Unless they have a genius baby that already understands all the words, who cares?"
Another added: "I can clearly see why the parents weren't keen on them. If the words really make them uncomfortable, you could always just hum the melody to the baby. As a parent, if I heard someone singing that to my kid, I'd feel some type of way. To their minds, you are calling Darkness into their child's life."
