A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a "beautiful soul" mum was tragically killed in a shooting.
Lianne Gordon was shot and killed in Hackney, east London, on Tuesday. The 42-year-old was declared dead at the scene and a 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old were also wounded and rushed to hospital. Lianne's family are now being supported by specialist officers. Lianne had not long returned from a family holiday in Jamaica, it is understood. The mum was a "completely innocent person who didn't do anything to anyone," according to nurse Jackie Finnigan, who knew the mother for around 15 years.
The Metropolitan Police arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of murder in the early hours of this morning. Detective Chief Inspector Jo Yorke, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said: “While this arrest marks a significant development in this investigation, I would like to reiterate my appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

Nurse Jackie added: "She has been taken from us unnecessarily. She was just there for everyone, anyone who needed or wanted anything - who need to go somewhere, needed shopping, needed a babysitter, anything. It doesn't matter what it was, she was there."

"I am extremely grateful for the support from our communities to date and this has been crucial in driving the investigation forwards. As DCI Yorke outlined, we continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
