It's not often you get something for nothing but that's exactly what Sky is dishing out right now. The satellite TV firm has announced a swathe of bonus extras this month and customers won't have to pay a penny to access them.

For example, anyone who fancies tuning into shows such as Ted Lasso, Silo, For All Mankind, Severance and The Morning Show can now get a whole six months of Apple TV+ for free via their Sky box. This premium telly service usually costs £8.99 per month so there's a total saving of almost £54 to be made.

Sky says this deal is available for new or returning Apple TV+ customers who haven’t already accessed an Apple TV+ offer with Sky - if that's you then you can grab the free access via the VIP section of the My Sky app.

If you do sign up just be aware that once the free period ends you will then pay £8.99 unless you cancel.

So what else is Sky adding for free this month?

Along with Apple TV+, the clever Santa Tracker will return to screens later this month with Sky showing families exactly where the sleigh and reindeer are as they race across the globe delivering presents.

To access this tracking system, simply use voice control on Sky Glass, Sky Stream or Sky Q to ask, “Where’s Santa?”; “Santa Tracker”; “Where is Santa right now?”; “Follow Santa”; “Is Santa coming tonight?”

From now until Christmas Eve you’ll also find a live countdown to the big day plus there are 12 new video messages from Santa on Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q. Just say,” Santa, what is your favourite music”, “Santa, what do you do in the summer holidays?”,” Santa, am I on the nice list?”’ and you should get a festive response.

Finally, those wanting to get fully in the Christmas spirit, there are some easy ways to find festive movies. Simply say, “we wish you a movie Christmas”, “Christmas on Sky Cinema” and “Movies make Christmas” into your remote and you should see all the top movies appear on your telly.
