Sonographer shares worst gender scan responses - 'husband's flying in rage'
Having a baby is a true blessing, and many families will be happy enough that their little one is happy and healthy to not care about the sex of their unborn child.
But it turns out that some mums and dads truly do care, as a sonographer shared some shocking stories with an anonymous writer from Kidspot, admitting that she was "relieved" when the journalist said she didn't want to know whether her baby was a girl or boy.
The writer and her husband said they wanted to "wait and see", but when the sonographer was probed about what she'd seen while at her job, the reactions were scary.
The sonographer explained that she'd seen fathers "fly into a rage" and even leave the room where their wife or girlfriend was anxiously waiting for their return, "sobbing on the table" because they felt as though they'd done something to provoke the reaction.
The journalist said that the reactions "blew her mind", and she was mortified that anyone would react like that, simply by finding out that their child is a boy or a girl. It seems as though, for some, there is still a "cultural preference for sons" - despite how far we've come as a society.

Another mum-to-be took to Reddit to share that her husband is "so angry" that they're not having a son, despite the fact that she "doesn't care" about the gender - and his reaction to finding out they were having a girl was concerning, leaving commenters worried.
She said that they "counted down, cut the cake and the icing was pink." And then his cruel two-word response came. He yelled "f**k no" and then "threw the plastic knife across the yard and kicked the whole table over" in a terrifying display.
She continued: "Our other daughters looked at their dad and said 'You don't like girls?' He stomped off and told me it was my fault we were having another girl. I have no control over what we have but my kids and I will always remember how he acted over this gender reveal. I get people can be disappointed with gender but throwing things and kicking things is too much."
Thankfully, the journalist who spoke to the sonographer was "excited" when she finally gave birth and her husband told her it was a girl. She wrote: "Tears stream down my face as I say a silent thank you to the universe for my husband and for this precious gift - our daughter."
