Prince Harry is set to ruffle more feathers as he has reportedly hired one of his brother Prince William's top employees to run the next Invictus Games for him.

Nick Booth is said to have been drafted in as interim CEO of Vancouver and Whistler 2025, which will feature winter sports for the first time. Previously, Nick served the Prince and Princess of Wales for years and was a trusted aid to them.

He has now been tapped up by Harry to take over the running of the next Invictus Games in Canada - after there was turmoil last time. Two senior executives, CEO Peter Lawless and Chief Commercial Officer Bill Cooper left abruptly in the Autumn.

A source told Mail Online: "Nick Booth is one of the Duke of Sussex's right-hand men. He was instrumental in setting up Invictus with Harry and has been asked to shore up the 2025 games with just over a year to go."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a last minute dash to Canada to save the Invictus Games after reports of "chaos" brewing behind the scenes. In November it was reported that the Duke of Sussex's Invictus Games were reportedly in turmoil.

It came after the two senior executives Peter Lawless and Bill Cooper were said to have been "dismissed for no apparent reason" more than a year before the next event. A whistle-blower told the MailOnline that CEO Peter Lawless, a lawyer and arguably Canada's most respected Olympic and Paralympic administrator, left his job abruptly.

However, a spokesperson from the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 told The Mirror: "The entire team behind the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 is focused and diligently working to host an incredible Games in February 2025, welcoming up to 550 competitors from up to 25 Nations."

They added: "We can confirm that Peter Lawless and Bill Cooper are no longer employees of Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 and we thank them for their efforts to bring the Games back to Canada. We are delighted that Peter will continue to support the Vancouver Whistler 2025 Games as an Ambassador and CEO Emeritus.

"There are no budgetary issues relating to the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 and the organization is on track to meet its fundraising targets, thanks to a dedicated network of senior volunteers and our government partners."
