Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fear claims in Omid Scobie's new book has ruined any chances of a Royal reconciliation, it has been claimed.

The author’s explosive new book Endgame caused huge controversy earlier this month when it was released, described as “a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy”. However, it later provoked a massive backlash when a Dutch version of the book named two members of the Royal Family who Omid claimed had made a racist remark about Prince Archie.

“I wrote and edited the English version,” he stated. “There’s never been no version that I’ve produced that has names in it.” Meanwhile Dutch publishers Xander Uitgevers said the error was being “rectified”, and had pulled all copies of his books off sale.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not commented on the firestorm surrounding the book, royal author Omid - who has previously been called Meghan’s “mouthpiece” - has insisted he is not friends with the former Suits star, but that has done little to help repair the fractured relationship between Harry and his family.

Now, the Sussexes are allegedly worried that the book will scupper their chances of a reconciliation with King Charles, and other senior members of the monarchy, including Harry’s estranged older brother Prince William.

“The Sussexes may be worried the book will spoil a chance of restoring relations with the Royal Family. Many media outlets are reminding people that Omid Scobie was Harry and Meghan's mouthpiece," Pauline Maclaran, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, University of London, told the Express.

She said the printing error - and the other claims in Omid’s book - could tarnish Harry and Meghan’s reputation, and said the Royal Family will move past the “emotional frenzy” surrounding the couple.

“It will be interesting to see what they do. Before the book came out they were trying to distance themselves from it,” Pauline explained, adding that Harry and Meghan urged that they had not contributed to the book and were not supporting it.
