A shocked woman has shared the moment she found a hidden message underneath her wallpaper - and people are in tears at the heartbreaking meaning behind it.

Moving into a new house is always exciting, but some properties can take work. If you've ever removed old wallpaper you'll know how tedious it can be, however, one homeowner got more than she bargained for when she discovered a secret note scrawled on the walls by the previous owners.

Taking to TikTok to share the emotional message, the woman, who goes by the name @farnovations, posted the video online and revealed she won't paint over it as it's now a "part of the home".

As she removed the wallpaper from the wall, underneath you could see a handwrittne message that said: "Frankie I love u, Pat". She then explained that Frankie was the woman she bought the house from, and is now in her Eighties, but her husband Patrick sadly passed away a few years ago.

She explained: "They spent 45+ years in this house and raised their children here," leaving TikTok users heartbroken. Adamant on preserving the sweet gesture, the woman said: "I will send her a photo of the lovely memory and we will wallpaper this wall again so the message stays in the house."

People chimed in with their own stories of finding past homeowners' memories, as one person wrote: "I moved into a Victorian house years ago and found names and dates of people who'd lived there. We added our names and date and when we moved we wallpapered it."

Another person shared: "We found something similar to this with my grandparents when my grandad passed and we moved into their house." Others praised her for keeping the sentimental message and said: "You're so lovely for keeping the memory of their shared love in that house going by not plastering over it."

Elsehwhere, another woman revealed something a little more scary when she pulled up the floorboards in her house and was left "terrified" by what was underneath. And as soon as she did, she wished she hadn't, as she came face-to-face with what looked like thick black webs that covered her floor.

Posting to a local group, she asked if people had "any ideas what this is", according to Yahoo News. Several people responded to give their theories, with some even joking it looked like her house had been transported the upside down from the Netflix series Stranger Things.
