Prince Harry could be tempted to distance himself from a new bombshell book after "suspicions" have grown that his wife Meghan Markle was involved, one expert has suggested.
Royal author Omid Scobie released Endgame last week and it's caused a storm after reigniting the royal race row. An "error" in the Dutch translation saw King Charles and Princess of Wales Kate Middleton named as the Royal Family members who allegedly raised "concerns" about the skin colour of Harry and Meghan's son.
Omid has insisted he never interviewed the Duchess of Sussex for the new book. However, royal expert Duncan Larcombe believes Endgame has ruined any chances for Meghan and Harry to reconcile with the Royal Family amid fears she was involved.

"There's now pressure being put on Harry to come out and distance himself from the book, and I think that will be very tempting for him to do because it seems he has been trying to soften his tone towards the royals," Duncan said.

Speaking to new magazine, he suggested the timing of the book's release "couldn't be worse for Harry" and said it's "his worst nightmare" as he had tried to mend his relationship with his family in recent weeks. The Duke of Sussex shared a phone call with his father to celebrate the monarch's 75th birthday and there were rumours of a second call being planned.
While Omid has insisted he doesn't have a relationship with Meghan, he admitted he was briefed by the Sussexes team for his new tell-all book. Speaking to The Standard, Omid denied being told personal details by Meghan and Harry, but added: "There's enough people around them and in their orbit who know the ins and outs of things."
Meghan has since faced calls to speak out on Endgame, but Duncan believes it wouldn't matter. He explained: "In my opinion, people will always conclude that she's played some kind of indirect role in some of the information that Scobie has revealed. there will also be suspicions in the Palace that this has Meghan's fingerprints over it."
Omid Scobie insisted he hadn't spoke to the Sussexes about the book (BBC)The royal race row was first started when Harry and Meghan were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in 2021. In the chat, the Sussexes claimed a member of the Royal Family had expressed "concern", but they chose not to name those involved.
The allegations were first made when Harry and Meghan were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in 2021, but they chose not to name those involved. When the Sussexes made their explosive allegations on Oprah, they set in train a public debate about who in the Royal Family might harbour such racially charged views. In a multicultural modern Britain such allegations against the monarchy generated debate on a matter of such public importance with Scobie's new book claiming to add to that public debate.
Omid has denied responsibility for the error in the Dutch translation of his book. In the UK version of Endgame, Omid hasn't named those involved in the racism row. He claimed that he knows the names but said "laws in the United Kingdom prevent me from reporting who they were."
Speaking to Dutch chat show RTL Boulevard, Omid said: "The book is in several languages, and unfortunately I do not speak Dutch. But if there are translation errors, I'm sure the publishers will have it under control. I wrote and edited the English version. There's never been no version I've produced which has names in it." Omid went on to deny that he had ever written the names claiming: "There's never been no version I've produced which has names in it."
