King Charles is known to be particularly pedantic about his daily routine, with new claims there will be 'hell to pay' if his bedtime regime doesn't go smoothly.

According to royal author Omid Scobie in his new book Endgame, the King's "habits and way of life suggest a disconnect", and even his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, "repeatedly complained about Charles' extravagantly luxurious lifestyle". Scobie details the King's alleged rules for bedtime and breakfast, referencing reports of "temper tantrums at night" if things don't go to plan.

The writer paints a fussy and childlike image of the King's demands and criticises him for being "far from humble", in regard to his multiple outfit changes a day. He states the King has a "repair-and-rewear approach" to dressing though has "four valets" prepare his clothes and help him get dressed. He mentions the infamous breakfast of soft-boiled eggs that Charles likes to be cooked for precisely four minutes, "no more, no less".

"There have been reports of temper tantrums at night as well: if the prince's pyjamas aren't pressed, sources have claimed, there is hell to pay," Scobie writes. And the author claims the King has a particularness about his shoelaces too. "When get even the smallest bit threadbare, a staff member must quickly switch them out with a fresh, ironed pair," he alleges.

Scobie adds that Charles likes to have someone "squeeze exactly one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush" and it must come from a "creasted silver dispenser" - a rumour that sources have allegedly confirmed. Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell has previously claimed Charles had "everything done for him", including requesting the bathtub to be "only half full" and the water temperature "just tepid".

Scobie, who previously wrote a biography on Meghan and Harry titled Finding Freedom, makes numerous bombshell claims about the King in his new book. Other, more explosive, allegations claim Charles told Prince Harry not to bring Meghan Markle to Balmoral Castle to say goodbye to the Queen. "They just didn't want Meghan there," Scobie wrote that a former Palace aide said.

The author also claims Charles snubbed Princess Lilibet's christening and allegedly declined his invitation. Though despite being unable to celebrate, the book says Harry and Megan still keep the King "in the loop" about what his youngest grandchildren are up to and send him new photos of the children. Scobie alleges the contact between the Sussexes and the King is "infrequent" but the monarch and Meghan did exchange letters in the spring of 2021, in the weeks after her bombshell chat with Oprah Winfrey.
