I styled M&S' 'slimming' wide-leg jeans and they fit like a glove
Being a short girlie, I’ve always found it tricky finding the perfect pair of jeans that fit both lengthways and width ways, and often find they’re way too long, so much so that they’re dragging on the floor, or too big around the waist, leaving a huge gap at the back.
After ordering countless pairs online, only to send them back the next day due to them being a pretty horrendous fit, I decided to hit the shops and head to Marks & Spencer to put their denim to the test - and it’s safe to say I was impressed.
Now, I’d previously heard great things about M&S’ £35 Wide-Leg Jeans, and was delighted to spot my size hanging on the rack as I made my way through the dreamy denim section. The jeans come in three lengths: short/petite, regular and long, and are available in seven colours, ranging from a light-blue denim to a stylish khaki green.
The jeans come in three lengths, and a range of different coloursBeing 5ft 3, I of course opted for a petite pair (size six) in the Medium Indigo colour way and headed to the changing room to style my new jeans with some other items I've had my eye on for a while.
As soon as I popped the jeans on, it was love at first sight. They fit like an absolute glove which is practically unheard of for me! Not only was there no gaping at the waist, but the length was absolutely perfect too as they just covered the tops of my shoes - and you guessed it, no dragging!

I loved how they fit slim at my hips, but loosened out throughout, creating the illusion of longer legs - they’re every short girl's dream. Not only did they fit to perfection, but they’re super comfortable too thanks to the authentic stretch denim that’s made using soft, responsibly sourced cotton.
For my first look, I decided to pair the jeans with this cosy £35 Ribbed Roll Neck Jumper in cream which I spotted previously on the M&S Instagram page, and these stunning silver Leather Kitten Heel Ankle Boots which added the ultimate festive touch.
I opted for a medium in the cream jumper as I wanted a more oversized, casual fit which could easily be tucked into the jeans without looking ‘too polished.’
Next up, I styled the jeans with this £65 Faux Leather Tailored Single Breasted Blazer for the perfect date night look. I love how versatile this blazer is, as you can dress it up and wear it by itself with nothing underneath, or pair it with a cosy knit, jeans and trainers for a chic daytime look.
The jeans also looked great styled with this stylish blazer - also from M&SI went for a size 10 in the blazer as again, I wanted a more oversized, slouchy look. Going for a slightly bigger option also gives you more room to layer a chunky knit underneath when the temperature plummets.
All in all, I'm happy to say that my search for 'the perfect jeans' has come to an end, and you can snap them up here for just £35.
For a slightly cheaper alternative, another pair I'm loving are these Wide Ultra High Jeans from H&M, priced at £27.99.
