Prince Harry's olive branch from Princess Kate dismissed as 'wishful thinking'

Kate Middleton has not been working behind the scenes as a "peacekeeper" between husband Prince William and his brother Prince Harry a new report says.

While it has been previously widely reported that the Princess of Wales was doing her best to help fix the strained relationship between the two brothers, Endgame author Omid Scobie has now dismissed those claims admitting the Princess likes to "stay out of it" as far as he is aware.

In a new interview, he explained: “I have questioned where Kate the peacekeeper stories come from because I’ve certainly not had anyone tell me anything of the sort. From my observations and the conversations I’ve had with people, Kate likes to stay out of that stuff, and we’ve certainly not seen any efforts from her made to smooth things over with any issues with herself and Meghan or with Harry or any kind of encouragement between the two brothers to talk."

Speaking to ELLE.com, Omid continued to admit feeling that sometimes he thinks Kate is incorrectly portrayed as "this sweet and innocent wife would just want to get the men together to smooth things" adding that he believes we "know so little about Kate and the people around her are so guarded."

He then drew comparisons between Kate's public persona and the Queen and how “we knew so little about her, we knew her opinion on very little beyond horse racing. Omid went on to say that he felt the reason the Queen gave so little away was "largely down to her being an extremely private person, but also the people around her respecting her privacy and receiving that palace protection at all times."

He then described how "Kate has that too," and how he believes she has been "very fortunate compared to a lot of the other royal women who came in and were completely left to fend for themselves.”

Omid added that he thinks press coverage of Kate is often "wishful thinking" with a focus on trivial things such as "wow, doesn’t she sit well?" And "wow, she twirled her hair." He then suggested that Kate has "got a lot more to say and do and prove beyond that."
