Super Sunday’s contest between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur was watched by NFL icon Tom Brady.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner, who has a minority stake in EFL Championship side Birmingham City, was at the Etihad Stadium to watch a pulsating 3-3 draw between two of the Premier League ’s top teams. This was in stark contrast to the 0-0 draw he witnessed at St. Andrews as Birmigham failed to score against Rotherham, who are second from bottom in England’s second tier.

Fans noticed Brady enjoying some Premier League action on Sunday and they made sure to highlight the difference in standards between England’s first and second divisions. “Come to watch the actual football,” one said, before another added: “He should be enjoying this a tad more than the dry bread he was served yesterday afternoon.”

The comments continued as one viewer wrote: “Bit different to watching Birmingham City,” along with the thinking face emoji, as another user said: “He's gone to see how the game is really played!” Before his trip to Manchester, the 45-year-old toured the Birmingham facilities and met fans ahead of their game against Rotherham in what was a game Blues needed to win given their poor form since Wayne Rooney became their manager.

The Blues were in sixth place when John Eustace was in charge and the football world was left stunned when he was replaced by the Manchester United and England legend in October. Birmingham have now dropped to 15th and they have recorded just five points in eight games since Rooney took over. Post-game, the former England international urged his players to be more brave as they search for more points. “I thought we started the game really well for 20 minutes.

"But we got sloppy, we got slow and we created a lot of our own problems. We were probably fortunate in the end to come away with a point. We haven’t won the game because we got complacent. A lot of things we need to address, basics of the game like heading the ball, it was not there today.” When Brady announced his stake in the team in August, he admitted he needed to educate himself about the 'other' football which isn't the NFL. “Well, let’s just say, I’ve got a lot to learn. But I do know a few things about winning, and I think they might translate pretty well,” Brady said.

“I know success starts with the work put in when the world isn’t watching. I know that a team is nothing without the city that shows up and stands behind it. And most importantly, I know I like being the underdog.” On Sunday Brady watched Tottenham ’s Son Heung-Min open the scoring against the champions before the same player put the ball into his own net minutes later to level the scores.

City took the lead on the half-hour mark through Phil Foden, but 25 minutes into the second half, Giovani Lo Celso scored his second goal in as many games to make it 2-2. City thought they’d perhaps done enough to clinch the three points when Jack Grealish restored their lead, only for Dejan Kulusevski to score an injury-time equaliser to give Spurs a vital point.

The draw means Arsenal remains at the top of the league, two points ahead of Liverpool who grabbed a win late on against Fulham in a dramatic contest at Anfield. City are in third while Spurs stay 5th, two points behind fourth-place Aston Villa.
