BBC Breakfast made a Strictly Come Dancing blunder as they discussed one couple needing to pull out of the competition at the quarter-finals.
Presenters Ben Thompson and Sarah Campbell discussed the news that EastEnders and Casualty actor Nigel Harman has been forced to pull out of the quarter-finals due to injury. However, whilst speaking on the Sunday breakfast show (December 3rd) the two broadcasters mistakenly told viewers that there are now only three couples left in the competition, when in fact there are still four.
With Nigel Harman and Katya Jones stepping down, it still leaves four celebrities and their Strictly professionals battling it out to be able to lift the Glitterball trophy. The remaining couples are Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell; Layton Williams and Nikita Zumin; Annabel Croft and Johanne Radeve and Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.

Discussing the announcement, Ben said: "Really tough that you've got so far through the competition then you leave through an injury. So what, three couples left".
Fellow presenter Sarah then replied: "Yes I think so, it's all really getting down to the final the final moments," before Ben added: "And they are all really good."

Saturday nights Strictly saw a devastated Nigel and Katya standing alongside their fellow celebrities, as Nigel sadly said: "I was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some handsome men, and as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed I was in A&E. I've done something to my rib, it's quite painful and I'm a little bit high on painkillers but I'm having a lovely time."

Aside from the competition, the stars for the upcoming BBC Christmas special have been announced, with one BBC Breakfast presenter set to take to the dancefloor. Presenter Sally Nugent has signed up to perform and will be paired with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima, and is best known for leading the coverage on BBC Breakfast for the last two decades. Speaking about joining the show, Sally revealed: "I am thrilled and slightly terrified to be taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. I'm hoping the judges will be kind - and filled with Christmas spirit. And I hope everyone watching at home will enjoy a little bit of Strictly magic on Christmas night."
